No Good News Sign With Pure Noise, Then Disappear From Internet

>> No Good News signed to Pure Noise Records on May 1st, and a lot has happened since.  Harry Corrigan, the drummer of NGN, was accused of sexually assaulting a girl back in 2012 and the Internet never forgets. Pure Noise was under fire recently when a musician on their roster (Front Porch Step) was accused of sexually harassing several young girls. People were outraged at their decision to sign No Good News so soon afterwards, given the accusations.  After demands for a statement (then demands for a better statement) on top of calls for Harry to leave the band, Harry issued a statement. The statement was his attempt to show remorse, and in it he mentioned plans to step back from the band "for a while." People were still very upset, and within a week's time, No Good News has vanished.  Their websites are gone - from social media accounts to their bandcamp page.  In addition, both Skate and Surf and Spring Fling have revealed line-ups that no longer include NGN, and there are signs it is now confirmed that NGN won't be going on tour with Head North and Light Years. It seems like No Good News is no longer a band, and you can be sure there will be more updates here if anything else comes up.

>> Long Island natives No Good News have signed with Pure Noise Records. The label will be re-releasing the band's Disposable Summer EP later this summer.  In addition, the band will hit the road with Light Years, Head North, and Casey Bolles starting June 5th. The full list of dates for that run can be seen below a message from NGN:
We're really excited to be joining the Pure Noise Records family. Jake has always been great to us and we have a lot of respect for the way he has grown Pure Noise and the bands he works with. We're grateful that he's given us the chance to have our songs heard by more people and to spend the rest of the year on the road playing those songs. Thank you to everyone who has supported our band, very stoked for the future.
>> Update: On May 6th, NGN drummer Harry Corrigan released a statement in which he shared plans to step away from the band "for a while" following sexual assault allegations stemming from an incident in 2012. Jake Round of Pure Noise Records, having recently dealt with a similar situation with Front Porch Step, also posted a statement which you can see here.

>> Another UpdateAnimal Style Records, home to Light Years, has issued a statement about the state of the scene.  A snippet can be seen below, and the full statement can be seen here.
There's a real problem in our community and instead of getting better, it's only getting worse. I don't want to sit on the sidelines and keep my silence. We need to make a stand that misogyny and sexual misconduct will not be tolerated.
This community needs to be a safe-place and where we can accept everyone from all walks of life; regardless of gender, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. I've seen what we can do when we join together and help lift each other up. We're all in this together and have a responsibility to take this stand. Please, don't support anyone who tells you otherwise.
